WINED UP is a stylish, horizontally-oriented wine tote that makes a great gift, especially when full, but sometimes the recipient may be more excited about the tote than the contents - just saying.
This tote will hold a “standard” 750 ml wine bottle; “standard” being about 12” (30 cm) tall. The top opening is narrow to ensure that if the zipper is not fully closed, the bottle will not fall out. It also means that the best way to insert the bottle is neck first. BUT, if your intended bottle is taller - say 13” (33 cm) - you can accommodate that by adding a bit of extra width at the fold line. This will ensure the bottle is still secure if the top is not fully closed. Find some tips for this in CUTTING.

Make WINED UP from a variety of exterior fabrics: quilting cotton, upholstery fabric, canvas, vinyl or cork. If you use canvas and are handy with paint, brush, stamps or stencils then consider customizing your tote with your own motif or theme.
The lining can be made from quilting cotton. You can add optional fusible fleece or an Insul Brite-like product for an insulating factor.
Fabric choices can take it up a notch—try cork, leather, vinyl, waxed or hand-painted canvas. A bottom panel and/or hardware can be added and, of course, a wine charm is a logical embellishment for gift giving.
