I love a great backpack but they can be awkward. What was needed to fill the gap and still work to carry hards-free was a sling – somewhere halfway between a crossbody bag and a backpack. It is secure, accessible and easy to carry. It has to have lots of pockets too to carry your essentials but it mustn’t be too big. Or too small. Quite a big ask but I think that we have achieved it!
The Windermere features a lapped front zipper pocket and inside a zipper box pocket and two lined slip pockets. It has a sturdy strap and is comfortable enough to carry all day.

The pattern:
This is a measure and cut pattern which means that you don’t have any templates (pattern pieces) to print off and match up- Yay! You need a rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat, and you can cut the pattern pieces straight from the fabric. This is easier than it sounds because the pieces are all simple squares and rectangles. You can transfer the cutting measurements to paper to create your own paper template/pattern piece if you prefer to use them.
