Sew your own Wattisham Tote Bag with this PDF sewing pattern. Wattisham is a large, simple, roomy, retro style tote, which features pleats front and back, and an interior patch pocket with tab fastener. It can be made with a contrasting lower panel as in view 1 or with the pleated front/back panel all in one (view 2).

Wattisham, named after the WWII Suffolk airfield, is perfectly sized for everyday use, from shopping trips to days at the beach. It makes up beautifully in most fabrics, from Charlie’s Aunt signature British tweeds, corduroy and velvet, to practical cotton canvas. Made with purchased webbing straps or leather straps.

For the Wattisham Tote Bag there are 17 pages—10 pages including the cover, general, cutting out and step-by-step instructions, and 7 pattern sheets with the templates, which you must print and cut out. All templates are actual size and all seam allowances are included. Two of the templates are too big to fit on one page and therefore must be cut out and joined together with tape at the dashed lines, matching symbols where indicated. Instructions for this are clear.
