The Vicky May Cross Body Bag

The Vicky May is a full sewing pattern and video tutorial.

It is a cross body bag that you will not only love to make but love to use and wear as an every day bag.

It has designed to be the perfect size as an everyday bag as it can hold a small water bottle and has lots of features that will keep you organised on the move!

This is an Intermediate bag. This is due to not only the front 3d pockets (depending on which option you choose - more on that in a moment...) but the bound inside construction. It does however sew up fairly quick and has some fun techniques to learn inside the pattern too.

Features
Inside the bag there is a zipper pocket on one side of the bag and 2 slip pockets on the other side - this is the everyday bag for keeping organised! Keep your private goodies in the zipper pocket, your hand sanitiser and tissues in one slip pocket and your lip balm and keys in the other!

There are 3 options of patterns and styles to the Vicky May. During the testing process it became apparent that the instructions would be much easier if split into 3 different patterns to avoid confusion (thank you testers!). Each option is the same size and has the same construction and inside pockets etc. However the front of each has a different look and different techniques. Check out the introductory video (found below) for a full run through on the different options. 

Option 1: Has 2 x front gusset (3d) pockets. This is the most advanced option. The smaller pocket is a tight curve to sew around. Definitely worth it, but not for the more beginner/less confident sewist. I love this version, it is my favourite. The smaller pocket is perfect for glasses while the larger pocket is perfect for your phone!

Option 2: Has 1 x large front gusset (3d) pocket. This is the probably the most common one that you might have seen on the high street. A great all rounder and a great way to try this 3d gusset pocket technique without the tight curves. 

Option 3: Is the option for the more confident beginner sewist. It has a front slip pocket, so eliminating the 3d pocket technique. 

All options have the letter and a4 pdf files, SVGS and projector files.

• 1 x Front Zip: 24cm (9 1/2") - Zipper Tape with 1 pull attached or closed end Zip (for the Left Pocket A).
• 1 x Front Zip: 16.5cm (6 1/2") - Zipper Tape with 1 pull attached or closed end Zip (for the Right Pocket B).
• 1 x Inside Zip: 20cm (8”) - Zipper Tape with 1 pull attached or closed end Zip.
• 180cm (71") x 1cm Bias Binding
• Outer Fabric: 1/2m. (20")
