This listing is for the new mini cross-body version of our original Home Front Bag, inspired by the styles of the early 1940s. The PDF includes full-sized templates and detailed instructions with diagrams. This cute but practical style is a compact size and shape, with unusual flap detailing reminiscent of the military styles of the Second World War, but with a modern twist.
The Mini Home Front Cross-Body Bag is constructed with box corners to give a flat base. A template and instructions for an interior zippered pocket are included in the pattern.
Approx. finished dimensions: Height 7.5” (19cm), width at widest point 10” (26cm), base depth 3” (8cm), adjustable strap at longest length made from quantities given including tabs is approx. 50” (115cm)
For PDF patterns, before you start, print all of the pattern templates, at 100% or with scaling set to “none” or “no margins” or “borderless” in print properties. For the Mini Home Front Cross-Body Bag, there are 16 pages — 9 pages including the cover, general, cutting out and step-by-step instructions, and 7 pattern sheets with the templates, which you must print and cut out. All templates are actual size. Please note that all seam allowances are already added and are ½” (12mm) unless otherwise stated or marked on the pattern templates.
The self-fabric strap template (F) is too big to fit on one page and therefore must be cut out and joined together with tape at the dashed lines, matching numbers where indicated. Lay pieces next to each other without overlapping. Instructions for joining templates are clear.
