Broadland is a backpack version of our popular Breckland Bag, combining the Charlie’s Aunt signature asymmetrical flap and pocket with 1940s simplicity and modern functionality. This pattern includes instructions for a recessed zipper, along with interior zip and patch pockets, making it ultra-safe as well as stylish. If you wish to simplify the bag, you can omit the zipper. The style is named after a region in the rural county of Norfolk, England.

Approximate finished dimensions:
Width 13” (33cm), height 11” (28cm), base width 3” (8cm) approx. and straps are adjustable.

For the “Broadland Backpack” there are 26 pages—16 pages including the cover, general, cutting out and step-by-step instructions, and 10 pattern sheets with the templates, which you must print and cut out. SEAM ALLOWANCES are all included and are ½ inch (12mm) unless otherwise stated. All templates are actual size.
Four of the templates are too big to fit on one page and therefore must be cut out and joined together with tape at the dashed lines, matching numbers where indicated. Instructions for this are clear.
