The Hipster Pouch sewing pattern is a fully illustrated sewing pattern complete with full-scale templates, for a stylish and practical hip bag - the designer's version of an ever-popular fanny pack that's perfect for guys and gals!

The pattern is extremely versatile and includes instructions for two sizes, and two different strap options - either a fixed webbing tape adjustable strap with snap buckle or a detachable, clip-on strap made from fabric.

The finished product is of beautiful quality and is fully lined with no exposed seams. The pattern involves a highly usual assembly technique with NO SEAM BINDING and NO HANDSTITCHING required! It's a great make for experienced bagmakers keen to learn new methods of assembling and finishing their bags.

This practical, on-trend body bag has lots of great features that make it the prefect gift for family and friends-

• Great for day trips, shopping, or cycling - hands-free and secure.
• Easy access zipper pocket at the front, and larger secure zipper pocket on the back.
• Roomy interior with one ultra-secure zipper pocket inside.
• Adjustable strap - either simple webbing strap or clip-on detachable strap made with fabric.
• D Ring tab to the front for keys or a decorate keyring.
• Fantastic unisex style - the perfect partner gift!

Materials:

  • Size large (full list of materials and sundries required for both sizes is included in the pattern).
  • Exterior Fabric (42” wide)- 1/2 yd - heavy washed canvas, denim, soft vinyl, waxed canvas - very stiff fabrics are not suitable for this project.
  • Lining- 3/4 yd medium weight woven fabric such as quilting cotton.
  • Interfacing (if required) - 20” wide/ 36” wide- 1 yd / 3/4yd.

The instructions are written for zipper tape, but guidance is given for using regular zippers if you prefer.

Sizing info:
Medium = 12 1/2" by 5 3/4" - circumference of approximately 34" - 48".
Large = 13 3/4" x 6 1/2" - circumference of approximately 37" - 52".

Skill level:
Intermediate - ideally you'll have made some bags already, and have experience of techniques such as sewing curves, working with zippers and stitching multiple layers of fabric. This is NOT a beginner project but it is loads of fun for those with a little practice, and a great way to add to your range of bagmaking skills.

Fun Pattern!

This waist pack turned out really cute, I used the video to follow along for some trickier areas when sewing multiple layers together. Overall, very satisfied with the pattern, will be making more!
